Technical details aside and it's only my own perception I'm talking about here, I sometimes find black and white photos can evoke feelings I'd never otherwise experience in response to a two dimensional representation of reality. While I agree with Misanthropic Scott color is more natural to our eyes, I've never found color photographs as 'flexible' as black and white photographs.

With color, you get what you shot, photo editing software aside. With black and white, you can make several totally different photographs from a single shot, once you're in the darkroom.

Oh, yeah, just for the record, while I created that version of that photograph, I didn't take the original shot, which is a truly wonderful picture.

Mr. Gilly,

I don't have any particular reason I don't like being spied upon, I just don't.

Pretty well every day of my life online, I wish there was some 'right to privacy' somehow, somewhere but since the prosperous spies pay our politicians to look the other way, such a right is unlikely to ever be established. Besides, governments also wants to spy on us, don't they?

The point here was the utter waste of our bandwidth and the resultant, totally unnecessary slowdown of our surfing as a result of this spying. Somehow, I have a sneaking feeling we're also paying the bill to have ourselves spied upon by these soulless, greedy assholes but I haven't yet delved too deeply into that likelihood.

I do suspect that pigs-at-the-trough photograph is going to be very useful over the years!

In the case of #12.
"Someone will finally figure out ‘cloud computing’ is just dumb terminals attached to a mainframe and all the idiotic hoopla and deceptive sales pitches will finally cease."

Did this one arise due to some oriental's inability to pronounce "crowd computing"?

I have to challenge your #9.
"Blogs and social networking sites have peaked and will decline, replaced by something else but leaving dead, abandoned web pages, scattered all over the Internet like rotting carrion."

While blogging may indeed fade and fall by the wayside, the abandoned web pages will last only as long as the servers that host them, but unlike carrion, they are not subject to bacteria, yeasts, nor Virium DNA, but live on in a sterile like manner while possibly surreptitiously infected with rogue code(s)!
